Chad Allen Da Piccolo Divo Ad Attore
Teatrale Translation by: Chiara Degli Eposti
"Working with Chad has been the funniest experience" recalls Shawn Toovey, his brother Brian in "Doctor Quinn, Medicine Woman". "At the audition he looked shy, but soon he became the perfect accomplice of many jokes we played on the set to the unfortunate colleagues! That was really an important moment for our professional growth...he was like an older brother...." Young actors growing.
Chad Allen, Sheriff Matthew Cooper in the hit series, just celebrated his 26th birthday. Blue eyes, short hair, skinny and athletic. In Italy the show in syndication still is a great success, but people often do not know that Chad has now become the idol of American teeenagers. Every magazine writes about him telling his story. Born in Cerritos, in California, the 5th June 1974, he made his debut at the age of 4 in a Mc Donald's commercial. In '82 he started his television career in the difficult role of the autistic boy Tommy for the tv show "St.Elsewhere", followed by other hit shows such as "Hunter" ('84), "Star Trek--the Next Generation" ('87), some episodes of "Webster" ('85), "NYPD Blue" ('93), and "Love Boat, The Next Wave" ('98).
For the young Allen attending school was becoming challenging. The scripts to learn, a tutor behind the scenes to replace the college teachers, a "great chaos", the actor recalls. "I suddenly realized the magic moment I was experiencing. And while I was still struggling to solve my very personal teenage confusions and shortcomings, the girls believed I was a star already, they believed I was completely self assured, and they mobbed me on the streets". The experience on the set, with Jane Seymour and Joe Lando in "Doctor Quinn" ,was fundamental. But today Chad said "next" and his new great love is theater. He founded "The Creative Outlet Theater Company" and brought on the scenes "Temporary
Help." The appreciation expressed by the audience made him think. The little screen will have to wait some more....
